To create your family tree, go to our Home page, where the Family Tree Builder is located. From there, you can begin adding yourself and your relatives through an intuitive menu designed to make the process simple for everyone.
Our Family Tree Builder allows you to easily expand your tree and add details such as birth dates, countries of birth, interesting facts, images, and much more.
As you add family members, our tool automatically arranges family tree members’ connections and updates the layout, so you can focus on collecting accurate information rather than arranging anything manually.
To export your family tree, click the “Export” button located in the top‑right menu of the main Family Tree Builder page. You can choose from three available formats:
JPEG - Common image format that’s easy to share and view anywhere.
PNG - Image file with a transparent background.
SVG - Scalable vector file with no quality loss.
You can customize which details are displayed for all members in your family tree by opening the family tree display settings via the "Tree settings" icon located in the top-right menu on the main Family Tree Builder page. These settings allow you to adjust data formats and choose which information to show or hide across your entire tree.
You can use the Manual Layout mode to customize the layout generated by the family tree algorithm.
In this mode, you can:
- Move people to different positions in the tree
- Adjust and edit connection lines between family members
- Fine-tune the overall arrangement of your tree
To do this, click the “Manual Layout” button in the top menu on the main Family Tree Builder page. From there, you can drag family members and connection points to adjust the layout as needed.

Yes, we respect your privacy and take the best measures to ensure your data is securely stored.
Yes. Changes are saved automatically, but where they are stored depends on whether you are signed in.
When you are signed in, changes are sent to your account. As a guest, your tree is stored in this browser tab’s session storage for the current session. It is not saved to an account.
Our Family Tree Builder doesn’t include built‑in access to historical archives or record databases. However, you can use our partner service, Archives.com, where you can search billions of records, photos, and vital documents to learn more about your ancestors.
